Back to school sewing
It's that time of year again: back to school. As a kid, I always looked forward to it since back-to-school meant back-to-school shopping! Crayons, glue, scissors, folders, clothes, shoes... maybe a new backpack! I just couldn't wait.
This year, I'm sending my son off to kindergarten and my daughter off to pre-school next week. It's exciting and sad at once. We've all heard parents say that time flies -- and I'm here to confirm that it is indeed true. I've been spending my last week doing prep stuff and making things just to keep my mind off the whole 'my babies are growing up' thing. Along with a bright and cheery picnic quilt, here are a few other back-to-school projects on my radar.
I know the picture shows these bags as a great way to organize your sewing room, but I'm thinking about a few of these bagettes for the kids' backpacks, too! No more lost crayons or markers bleeding ink on the bottom of the bag! (I know I wasn't the only one with that ink stain on my backpack!)
Since I'm going to be needing a little more organization myself... pockets to go are a must-have for the bottom of my purse.
What are you all making or doing to get ready for back-to-school?
